Yohnce Dwayne Clay was born on September 15, 1973, in Des Moines, IA to James Alfred Clay, Jr. and Mildred Louise Duke. He attended Roosevelt and Hoover High School, where he graduated.
Yohnce was a life long resident of Des Moines and a childhood member of Maple Street Baptist Church. As a youngster he was the King of Terrace Roller Rink. He later taught all the nieces and nephews how to roller skate.
He was an avid sports fan! He loved his teams: Nebraska's Corn Huskers, Seattle Sea Hawks, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Knicks and the Cleveland Indians. He watched all the games, collected all the hats and wore the jerseys to support t HIS teams. Yohnce was very social; he was part of a large blended family. He loved to spend time and entertain family and friends. Yohnce loved to 'Snapchat' and hang out on Facebook.
Friday, October 16, 2015, Yohnce stepped from time into eternity. He was 42 years old. Waiting to welcome Yohnce to the other side were his grand parents, Pauline and Arthur Duke, Sr and Tomette and Arthur Duke, Jr, Catherine Clay and his step father, Fred Thomas , Sr.
Yohnce leaves loving memories with his son, Deion Clay; his mother, Mildred Dukes and father James Clay, Jr; his siblings, Sam Clay, James Turner, Shaquille Clay, Trina Turner, Billie Jean Clark, Sharon Roland, Fred Thomas, Lori Ann Thomas, Frank Thomas, Connie Thomas, Karen Thomas, Mica, Frederick and Darrell Thomas; Melanie and Pebbles the cat; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many, many friends.
