Ms. Willie Mae Landers, 70, went home to be with the Lord on November 1, 2020.
Willie Mae Landers was born January 12, 1950 in Monroe, Louisiana to Lula Mae Paige and Henry Jake Wright. She received her primary education in Monroe where she attended Carver Elementary school and graduated from Richwood High School.
In 1974 she followed her mothers lead and moved her family to Des Moines, Iowa. The move opened up her job opportunities. Willie Mae was a hard worker. She worked various jobs during her lifetime to support her family. She was a customer service representative, did telemarketing, and was a cashier. Willie Mae also joined the Army Reserves for more training and pay. Willie also went back to school, attending DMACC towards a degree in early childhood education.
When Willie Mae had a spare moment she enjoyed playing spades and dominos with friends and family. She liked to play but she also liked to watch because that meant family was together. She was a good cook. The family all looked forward to her sweet potato pie and tuna casserole at family gatherings, which she loved to host. Willies greatest gift was the "gift of gab". She loved to talk on the phone and could talk to anyone about anything!
Willie Mae loved attending church. She was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dale Terry. She also bought Ms. Lula to church on many occasions.
On November 1st, 2020 the Angel of Deliverance came to take Wille home to King Jesus. Waiting to welcome her home were her mother, Lula Paige; her father, Henry Wright; her brother Alvin and two sisters, Mary and Emily.
Left to cherish Willies memory are her daughters, Tyrell Paige, Trina Paige, LaTica (Terence) Bragg and Rickeytha Landers; her grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends. Visitation
