William Foster was born to John William Foster and Blanche Beulah Black on July 22, 1942, in Chester, Pennsylvania. He was raised by his stepfather, John "Willie B" Robinson. William was educated in the Chester, Pennsylvania School System where he would go on to graduate from Drake University with a Bachelors in Education on a basketball scholarship.
On December 3, 1976, in Des Moines, Iowa, William married Kathleen Stone. Together, they made their home in Des Moines and started their family. He was known as the disciplinarian of the family. He was firm but fair, and easy going until he had to be tough.
William loved anything sports! He enjoyed golfing, bowling and basketball. During high school, William was quite active in athletics and that carried over throughout his life. He was also active in the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Roadrunners Bowling Guild and the Royal Dukes Mens Club. He loved R&B music and liked to sing. William also enjoyed being outdoors and playing sports. William always prided himself on being well dressed as he was a shopper that had good taste.
On October 1, 2020, William transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal life. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Blanche Foster; siblings: Eric, Marvin, Brenda, Gloria, Denise and Julynne; and grandson, Todd.
