*CDC guidelines will be followed with masks required during the Visitation and Celebration of Life Service. Up to 50 individuals will be able to attend the service in observance of Social Distancing. Social Distancing will strongly be encouraged.
William Anthony Burkett was born April 6, 1968 in Des Moines, Iowa to William and Sandra Marie (Griffith) Burkett. William, also known as "Doo" attended and graduated from North High School.
William confessed Christ to be his Savior at an early age and was apart of Maple Street Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. George H. Parrish, Sr.
William enjoyed life despite having a disability. William had many hobbies and enjoyed staying busy. Bowling was one of them. Reaching a score of 289 wasnt too much of a problem for him. William enjoyed playing basketball, throwing darts and watching NASCAR races. His favorite sports teams were the Miami Dolphins and the Chicago Bulls. Doo thought he could sing, but he was a much better dancer - Doo Doo Dancer! He was a big fan of Michael Jackson and Michael Jordan.
As a family man, William was great with children. He was blessed to have five of his own. He took pride in raising his own children and loved them from the bottom of his heart.
On February 3, 2021, William transitioned from this earthly life to his eternal life. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Sandra Burkett; grandparents, Clifford Richard and Flossie Mae Terrell; aunt/ sis, Jeanie and uncles/ bros: Craig, Bo and Toby.
Left to cherish his memories are his children, Krisha Harris, Desirae Burkett, Kayanna Burkett, Dezmon Burkett and Tristan Burkett-Murray; siblings, David Burkett, Kevin Burkett, Eraina Jackson and Santoi Jackson; grandchildren, Jahlani Hawkins, Nova Roberts and Londyn Roberts; aunt/ sis, Loretta Colton - Mom, Eraina Griffith and Sally Bailey; uncle/ bro, Ernest Terrell, along with a host of extended family members and friends.Visitation
