Vivian Barber

November 9, 1946 — May 23, 2015

Vivian Barber

Vivian C. Barber was born on November 9, 1946 to William and Constance Oseles in Minot, N.D. She was educated in the local school district and graduated from Minot High School.

Vivian gave her life to the Lord at a young age and was a member of King of Kings Missionary Baptist Church.

Vivian was blessed with five children, Angela, Dawn, Constance, Wayne and Melissa. In 1993, she would meet and marry Reverend Grant Barber. Vivian's family would then grow to include Grant's children, Leslie, Grant Jr., Alesia, Marie, Charles, Dorothy, Grace, Howard, and Bernadette.

Vivian was educated and trained as a nurse. She worked in hospitals for many years caring for the sick. After her retirement, Vivian became a homebody. She preferred to stay at home and play computer games or games on her phone. Grant could sometimes convince her to go camping with him. Vivian liked to travel and spend time with the grandchildren. She would be at home cooking some of her famous cabbage or steak. Whe she went out, you were sure to find her at the local Walmart. She loved shopping at Walmart!

Vivian answered the Master's call to rest on May 23, 2015. She was greeted on the other side by her parents, William and Constance and a stepdaughter, Marie.

Vivian leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Reverend Grant Barber; her children, Angela Wirth, Dawn Marie Hicks, Constance Scott, Wayne Scott and Melissa Olinger; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; sisters, Christine Hinkle and Joan Ward; brothers, William, Robert, Richard and Ronald Oseles; stepchildren, Leslie Allison, Grant Barber Jr., Alesia Austin, Charles Barber Sr., Dorothy Barber-Banks, Grace Barber, Howard Barber, and Bernadette Barber; 5 step great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
