Vincent Brown

Vincent Cortez Brown, 58, passed away on March 19, 2017 at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, Iowa. An open visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, March 24th at Henderson's Highland Park Funeral Home with family present from 3 to 5 p.m. A short tribute service will begin at 4:30 p.m. before Mr. Brown goes back home to St. Louis, Missouri.

Vincent was born on November 13, 1958 to Vince and Lula Brown in St. Louis where he was raised. He relocated and made Des Moines, Iowa his home where he worked at Scotty's Body Shop as an auto body mechanic for approximately 15 years. In October of 2016, he became ill and was no longer able to work. He fought a good fight until it led to his passing with his family at his side.

Vincent is survived by his sons, Vincent Brown, Jr., Terrance Brown and DeAndre Grady; grandchildren, Latearra, Trinity and Cortez; siblings, Pam, Don, Donna 'Mimi' and Wendy; his companion of 15 years, Clorean Richardson and her children, Savanna Richardson, Sierra Richardson and Charnissa Horton; Clorean's grandchildren; along with a host of many extended family members, in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
