Vernon Keith Robinson Sr.

Mr. Vernon Keith Robinson passed away November 9, 2019. A public visitation will be held at Henderson's Highland Park Funeral Home on Thursday, November 21, 2019, from 12:00 until 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.

Vernon Keith Robinson was born to Fred Robinson and Elnora Davis on March 27, 1954, in Huntsville, Missouri. The family would later relocate to Des Moines, Iowa, where Keith would graduate from Des Moines Technical High School. Following his primary education, Keith enlisted in the United States Navy.

For his service, Keith would receive a National Service Defense medal. In 1975, Keith completed his term of service and received an honorable discharge. He then returned home to start another chapter of life.

Keith loved to spend time working on his house, making improvements here and there. He also loved fishing with either a pole or even a bow and arrow! Keith was a fan of old school music and would often put on "The Temptations" or the "Isley Brothers". He was a great cook, whose guinea grinders and meatloaf were always welcome at any table. And even though he may have been a bit of a homebody, Keith was always a lot fun. He loved to make people laugh, and feel good.

Vernon was preceded in death by his father, Fred Robinson; brothers, Kelvin and Dale Robinson.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Donnie Walton, Keith Robinson Jr., Marvin Robinson, LaKeitha Robinson, Colby Robinson, MarLynne Robinson, Michael Mozee; mother, Elnora Robinson; siblings, Mark Robinson, Steven Robinson, Mitch Underwood and a host of grandchildren, extended family and close friends.
