Vernie Lee Ridgle Bragg was born in Montrose Arkansas on September 17, 1934 to James Albert Ridgle and Johnie Bessie (Lewis) Ridgle.
Vernie was educated in the Montrose School District where she graduated in 1953. She was married for a while; but her husband preceded her in death many years ago.
When Vernie moved to Des Moines she was employed at various venues. She worked as a day worker, a health care worker and for Noah’s Ark Restaurant.
Vernie loved to walk and enjoy nature. She walked almost any where she wanted to go. She also enjoyed fishing. Vernie could sing a little, but she mostly hummed the old traditional gospel hymns. She listening to WHO radio as she went about her daily tasks. Now Vernie was a good cook too! She could some things to a ham that would make it melt in your mouth. spaghetti and potato salad were some of her other specialties.
She was a easy going mother that gently guided you to the right path. She allowed you to grow into yourself and make your own decisions and mistakes.
Vernie slipped from time into eternity on October 26, 2023. she was preceded in death by her parents and 7 siblings.
Left to cherish her memory ar her daughter, Linda Ackiss; her son John (Marguerite) Bragg; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews extended family and friends.
