Tymiya Murray

Tymiya Shondale Murray, 45, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. No services are planned at this time.

She was born in Des Moines on August 19, 1978, to Robert and Audisteen (Morris) Murray Jr. Tymiya grew up in Des Moines and attended Roosevelt High School where she graduated with the class of 1996. Following high school, she attended DMACC where she earned her CNA certificate and an associate degree. Once her son was born, she was blessed to be able to stay home and take care of him.

Tymiya was a member of Corinthian Baptist Church in Des Moines where she was recently baptized.

She loved spending time with her son, siblings, and family. Tymiya also enjoyed shopping, reading, word puzzles, and eating mac and cheese and pizza casserole.

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her son Maurice Rogers III; parents Robert (April Thomas) Murray Jr. and Audisteen Morris; siblings Taurean Murray Sr., LaShay (Mitchell Brunner) Morris, Tamicka Murray, Diez Moore, Virmona McCamey, LeWayne Vanover, Davonika Morris, and William Tyrone Hill; a host of nieces and nephews; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; many cousins; and many close friends.

Tymiya was preceded in death by her grandparents Noble Grant (Virginia Scott) Morris, and Robert (Karen) Murray Sr.
