Timothy Durand Lee Sr.

Timothy Lee Sr. passed away on August 6, 2017 at home in Des Moines, Iowa. A public visitation will be held from 10:00 until 5:00 pm on Thursday, August 17th, 2017, at Hendersons Chapel. Funeral services will take place at Union Baptist Church on August 18th, 2017, at 1:00 pm. The family requests that donations be made to help bridge the financial gap for Timothy's final arrangements.

He is survived by his children, Timica Lee, Timothy D. Lee Jr. of Des Moines, IA, Tinita Lee, Timpestt Lee, Tinoia Lee of Fredericksburg, VA; siblings, Franklin (Michelle) Lee Jr. of Mpls, MN; mother, Gloria Dean Lee and brother in-law, General Johnson.

Timothy Lee was born to Franklin Jerome and Gloria Dean (Smith) Lee on November 2nd, 1966, in Davenport, Iowa. Together, they would relocate to Des Moines to raise their family. Timothy was a graduate of Hoover High School where he received his general education. Following graduation, Timothy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. where he would serve his country during Desert Storm. During his enlistment, Timothy would go on to receive medals for rifle marksmanship, good conduct as well as a sea service deployment ribbon.

After receiving an honorable discharge as a Corporal, Timothy would go on as a civilian to utilize his training he received as an equipment mechanic. He would work as a mechanic for a time, venturing into landscaping and construction. He would also work as a chef, often catering for local events. Timothy enjoyed cooking, working on cars and relaxing while watching some television.

In death, Timothy rejoins his Father: Franklin J. Lee Sr., sisters: Shelia Y. Lee and Fonda S. Johnson.Visitation
