On January 11, 1992 a ray of sunshine came into our lives in the person of:

Takeya Marie Hogan Camp

Takeyas parents, Jacqueline Davis and Wayne Camp, Jr. fell in love with her at first sight. She was beautiful and bright and busy. She received her primary education in the Des Moines Public School system where she graduated from North High School.

Takeya loved children and her choice of employment reflected this. She worked for Metro Kids (through the Des Moines Public Schools), Mosaic and The Learning Loft. She was also employed by ADP.

Takeya was an outstanding mother. Brayden and Avianah were her heartbeats. She was a natural caretaker and just generally loved people. She enjoyed singing, traveling and using her comedic talent. Making people laugh was easy for her. She was a fantastic " kitchen beautician". She didnt want to do it but her natural talent made her a star. She cooked when she needed to; but would rather go out to eat.

And suddenly...she was gone. Takeya stepped from time into eternity on September 27, 2020 at the age 28. Preceding her in death were her grandmother, Velma Allen; great grandmother, Mattie Johnson; great grand father, Harry Camp; and significant other, Leroy Gordan, Jr. III.

Left to cherish Takeyas memory are her children, Braden Gordon and Avianah Cason; her mother, Jakki (Jeon) Davis; her father, Wayne Camp, Jr; grandfather, Wayne Camp, Sr. siblings, Toccara Hogan, Tylen Chestnut, Germany Camp, Sari Camp, Aaliyah Camp and Passionay Carter; best friends, Ceeria Bekish, Kadejha Amerison and special someone, Demetrious Chiri along with extended family and friends.
