Taina Lynne Martin

Taina Lynne Martin, was born on November 20, 1963 to Louis Martin and Barbara Jean Jones in Des Moines, Iowa where she was also raised and educated.

Taina attended and graduated North High School. She worked primarily as a secretary but was able to do anything she put her mind to. She was very much her own person.

Taina was married for 35 years to Vernon Webb-Bey. Together they enjoyed two daughters, Sharron and Vastae. She loved entertaining family and friends especially by cooking for them. Some of her best meals included: guinea grinders, cabbage and chicken. She loved company but when it was time to go, it was time to go!

Tainas personality shined through her humor. She loved to sing but couldnt carry a tune. She enjoyed shopping and collected footie pajamas and lets not hide the fact that she wore them as well.

Taina passed away on September 10, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her son, James; granddaughter, Breeona Wright; parents; brothers, Louis Jr.; sister, Quana Colton; and her uncles.

Taina will live on in the hearts of her husband, Vernon Webb-Bey; daughters, Sharron and Vastae Martin; sisters, Denise Lovelady, Fayette Martin and Demeta Bolden; brother, Stephen Taylor; and a host of extended family and friends. Memorial Service
