Shiwannie Denise Woods

Shiwannie Denise Woods was born November 15, 1973 in Omaha, NE to Lester Dungy and Pamela Gaines Woods. She came to Des Moines as a youngster and attended and graduated from East High School. Later in life Shiwannie went back to school and was working on her criminal justice degree from the University of Phoenix.

Shiwannie was married to the former Ladonna Runles on March 22, 2014. Through lifes ups and downs they clung to each other to make it work.

"Lulla Mae" as Shiwannie was affectionately called, loved music and going shopping (especially for shoes) and playing video games. Her favorite pastime though was sleeping. She was loving and giving right down to her last dime. Her radiant smile was just a preview of the heart of gold she had for her family and friends. She loved spending time with her family and was the life of any party.

And suddenly she was gone. Shiwannie passed away on December 19, 2016 at her home. Waiting to greet her on the other side were her stepfather, Gary Woods and uncle Mitchell Gaines. Left to mourn Shiwannies passing are her spouse, Ladonna Woods; her parents, Lester Dungy and Pamela Woods; her children, Jahmir Breon Lewis and NaTaysha Jordon; 2 grandsons, her siblings, Jerry Berry Jr, MarrGenea Berry and Jamal Woods; special friends, Brandan Rabon, Vetta Burton, Anthony Mozee and Craig Clark, Jr. numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

A Sisters Prayer

My dearest Sister, I look back at your life as a gift from God and now that He wants you back, I have no right to complain. A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost. A cluster of memories sprinkled with tears, wishing God had spared you a few more years. Tenderly we treasure the past, with memories that will always last. Your parting has come and all our hears are broken, our sister gone with words unspoken. Never selfish, always loving and kind, these are your memories that you left behind. Time may pass and fade away, but memories of you will always remain. In Gods care you rest above, in our hearts you rest with our love. Words are few, thoughts are deep, and memories of you we will always keep. There is a place in my heart, that is yours alone, a part of my life that no one else can own. My tears in my eyes will wipe away, but the love in my heart for you, little sister is here to stay.

Eternal love, your big sis, MarrGenea Berry Visitation
