Sheryl Lynn Jones-Burrell

Sheryl Lynn Jones-Burrell was born on June 6, 1955 to William (Bill) Perry and Blossom Taylor-Jones, in Des Moines, IA. She was educated in the Des Moines Public School District and graduated from East High School



On June 7, 1972 two hearts became one when Sheryl married the love of her life, Roger Burrell. Between the two of them they had four children: Shalon, Tenelle, Fred and Temmira.



Sheryl worked for the Des Moines Public School District as a cook. She could have gotten rich from selling the secret recipe to her BBQ sauce. She was also family famous for her mac n' cheeze.



When Sheryl wasn't caring for her family or working, she was busy enjoying life. She had a fun loving spirit and a generous heart. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family gatherings. Sheryl loved to dance and ride roller coasters. She would travel the country to find a new one to ride. As a young woman she was a tomboy. She ran track, played baseball and roller skated. She loved listening to old school music by Janet Jackson and Aaliyah.



On September 23, 2014 Sheryl transitioned from time to eternity. Awaiting her arrival on the other side were her parents, William Perry and Blossom Jones; and her dad, Adolphus Edwards.



Left to cherish Sheryl's memory is her husband of 43 years, Roger Burrell; their children, Shalon Edwards, Tenelle Wilder, Fred (LaSha) Jones and Temmira Morrison; 10 grandchildren; her sister, Yana Perry; brothers, Daryl Jones Sr., Michael Burkett and Benjamin "Tweeter" Edwards and a host of other relatives and friends.
