Mr. Sherwood Earl Brown, Jr was born September 25, 1951 to Sherwood E. Brown Sr, and Mildred Brown in Des Moines, Iowa. He had one sister, Darlene.
Sherwood was educated in the Des Moines Public Schools and attended North High where he graduated in 1969.
Sherwoood was a hard worker. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail handler. After 41 years of service, he retired in November of 2010. Sherwood was also an active member of Black Pride, Inc.
Sherwood was married to Pinky Denese Jones and together they had one son Sherwood Brown III.
Sherwood loved to go to the Bayou Classic with his son. He loved to watch Nascar, playing darts and playing cards. He enjoyed listening to old school music and BBQ's. Sherwood was a gifted artist and could make an architectual drawing of most anything. He attended Drake relays every year and was a faithful fair goer. He absolutely loved children and would take them to the fair too.
Sherwood passed away February 24, 2013. He was preced in death by his father, Sherwood E. Brown Sr.; his mother, Mildred Brwon; and his sister in law, S. Kay Jones.
Sherwood is survived by hos son, Serwood Brown III; his granddaughter, Kaidyn Brown; his God daughter, Aapri Duke; his sister, Darlene Johnson of Kansas City, MO; his niece, Tenelle Wilder; His great-niece, Aireona Russ; his ex-wife and lifelong friend, Pink Denese Jones and a host of extended family and friends.
