Shaunetta Lena Marie (Johnson) Thomas was born January 4, 1969 to Rawland W. Freeman and Gilda D. Glasse in Des Moines, Iowa. Shaunetta completed her general studies at Des Moines Technical High School. She continued her higher education at Des Moines Area Community College, obtaining an Associates Degree.
Most of Shaunettas working days were spent in Customer Service. With her great work ethic, Shaunetta always maintained an excellent employee to customer relationship.
Shaunetta loved life. Most of the time in you could find her in the kitchen cooking up some spaghetti, fried chicken or her famous guinea grinders. She was the family DJ and loved playing some Busta Rhymes, DMX or Bobby Valentino at gatherings for friends and family. She also was a fan of karaoke. Shaunetta was also a creative person. She loved doing hair and followed all the fashion trends. She also enjoyed roller skating and butterflies. While she was an easy mom, Shaunetta was a firm parent. And being a woman of faith, she always wore a cross around her neck.
On October 2, 2021, Shaunetta Lena Marie Thomas stepped from time into eternity.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Dorothy M. Biggles and Gilbert Randle; aunts, Reba Harris, Cleta Manning, Barbara Hunter, Noella Windsor and Johnnemae Handy; uncle, Rollo Randle and her cousins, Sir William Bekish. and Richard “Man-Man” Lewis, Jr
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Trashae Johnson, Royan Bradley; daughter-in-law, LaTina Carter; parents, Gilda Glasse and Rowland Freeman; step-father, Clearance Glasse; siblings, Margoletta Johnson and Michael G. Edwards; grandchildren, Royan Bradley Jr., Royal Bradley, Ramier Mark Anthony Bradley, Jaiden Burges and Mariah Patton; nephews and nieces, Michael Walker, Isaiah Shook, Gregory M. Edwards and Meosha Walker; aunt, Brenda Witowski and family; cousins, Richard Randle and family, Darciea Houston and family, best friends, Lolita Windsor and Carla Windsor and family as well as a host of extended family and close friends.
