Shatara Washington

Shatara Washington passed away on April 9, 2023. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Corinthian Baptist Church starting at 1:00pm. Please check the website for updates and a full obituary.

Shatara Alexis Washington was born on May 30, 2005 in Des Moines, IA to Shalon Edwards and Mark Washington. She was educated in the Des Moines School System.

Shatara dreamed of being a cosmetologist. She had many hobbies and talents such as styling hair and makeup. She was absolutely a fashionista. She loved to draw and was very artistic. Although she was not much of a singer, that did not stop her from trying. She also had a love for dancing. She liked to go out to eat but at times she would enjoy cooking seafood boils. Shatara was the middle child of 5 who kept her quiet spirit until she became comfortable around you where then, her personality would shine. Her smile would light up a room. She had lots of friends and loved to work and save her money.

Shatara passed on April 9th, 2023. She was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Sheryl Burrell, William Lee and John Washington.

Shatara is survived by her loving mother, Shalon Edwards and father, Mark Washington; her siblings, Mark Paige, Shavazzia Edwards, Jashonda Edwards, and Marshayla Washington; grandparent, Ora Washington and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
