Sharon Thomas Rollen, 70, passed away April 16, 2019 after a extended illness.
Sharon was born in Des Moines, Iowa March 18, 1949 to Fred Thomas and Deloris E. Turner. She was educated in the Des Moines School District where she attended and graduated from North High. She lived for a time in Waterloo, Arizona and Florida, but found her way back home. She was baptised at an early age and attended Union Baptist most of her adult life.
Sharon loved to cook. You couldn't beat her 'Sharon Special'. It was always a surprize of a little of this and a little of that, but you could count on it being spicy! She was also an excellent baker. She tried to sing a little but she was a better dancer. Sharon loved decorating for all the holidays and having big family gatherings where she could feed her family. She was the glue that held the family together. She was a no nonsense mother, but the grandkids could get away with every thing.
Sharon suffered a major stroke and was moved back to Waterloo for her care. It was there that she passed away. She was preceded in death by her son, Little Rickie; sister, Linda Thomas and brothers, Frankie and William Thomas.
Sharon leaves fond memories with her children, Lolita Thomas, Raymond Thomas, William Burt, Richard Houston and Joey Moore; her sisters, Billy, Laura, Connie, Karen and Micah; brothers Freddie, Darryl and Frederick; her 21 grandchildren and over 9 great grandchildren; extended family and friends.
