Mrs. Sarah Mae Thompson-Hightower was born on November 14, 1928 to the late Jerry and Octavia (Atkins) Thompson, in Como MS. She was educated in the Panola County School System and graduated from Pleasant Green.
She was a member of St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She then joined Morris Chapel, where she was a Sunday School teacher and usher.
Sarah worked several jobs through out her life but spent the majority of her working years working at the Holiday Inn and the Southern Reporter. She retired at the age of 62.
On April 26, 2016, God decided to replenish his garden with another rose. So He plucked one of the most beautiful flowers from earth and planted Sarah in His "Heavenly Garden". She was preceded in death by two sons, Leroy and Billy; a grandson, Antonio; three brothers and two sisters.
Left to cherish Sarah's memory are her two daughters, Linda Gipson of Memphis, TN and Jimetta (Darryl) House; two sons, Carl (Aretha) House and Terry House of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Marlon, Jamie, Lashawn, Shannon, Shan'te and Rico; ten great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, C.S. Patton; her devoted friend, Rose Matthew and a host of other relatives and friends
