Sarah Ann Watson Bush was born October 7, 1947 in Sardis, MS to Robert Watson and Elizabeth Thompson Watson. The family moved to Batesville, MS where Sarah completed her high school education at Paton Lane High School.
At the age of 14, Sarah gave her life to the Lord and was baptized at the Concord Baptist Church in Batesville. Sarah eventually made her way to Iowa and made a life for herself and her son. She soon found work in the food service department of Drake University. Her co-workers at Drake were like Sarah's second family. They even went on activities together. Sarah retired from Drake in October of 2014.
Sarah met and married Henry Bush. They loved and took care of each other and her son, Jeffrey, for many years. When Jeffrey grew up and got married, Sarah got the daughter she never had, in Jeffrey's wife, Crystal. They loved going to Prairie Meadows together. Sarah loved to cook for her family. Man, man could she make some dressing and banana pudding! Holidays with her family were the best times ever!
Sarah's health took a turn for the worse and on March 8, 2016, she went from labor to reward at the age of 78. She was surrounded by her family as she transitioned home. Waiting for her on the other side were her parents, Elizabeth and Robert Watson; sister, Corine Jeter, and brothers, Terry and Leroy Watson.
Left to cherish Sarah's memory are her devoted husband, Henry Bush; her only son Jeffrey (Crystal) Watson; her stepson , James Bush, siblings Robert Watson, Jr., Lois Ballentine, James Watson, Mary Watson Charles Watson, Eunice Jefferson, Florence Watson, Darnell Watson, Melvin Watson and Lucy Titus; the grandchildren, Nate Watson, Brittany (Ryan) Steffens, Anneshea Watson, 2 great granddaughters and a great grandson who is on the way... along with a host of extended family and friends
