Samuel Marcellus Williams, Sr was born April 9, 1973 to Dwight Lee Redditt and Mary Lou (Williams) Huhnky in Helena, Arkansas. Sam received his primary education in Arkansas and graduated from Central High School in Helena. He left Arkansas to play football and attend the University of Nebraska.
Marcellus, as he was affectionately called, loved watching the Cornhuskers and the Dallas Cowboys play football. He was a sports fan and loved watching baseball and soccer also. He also loved to watch the history channel on TV. When he came to visit he would even turn your TV to the history channel. Marcellus liked to cook, and he thought his cooking was the best there was! He fished, and even cleaned and cooked what he caught. He loved to grill and his twice baked potato's were the best ever. He was a man of many interests; he could draw and loved music. He wanted to one day become a producer. He saw talent and opportunity in young people and supported them in the community whenever he could. He was always very mannerable and respectful to his elders and taught his children to do the same. He spent meaningful time with his children and grandchildren, teaching them lessons of life. And one of his biggest joys was to go shopping at Salvation Army! He loved finding a bargain and making the sale!
Marcellus answered the Master's call to rest on July 27, 2015. He was 42 years old. Waiting to meet him on the other side were his father and stepfather.
Marcellus leaves to cherish his memory, his children, E'Shayla Kelson, Samuel Williams Jr, Marlicia Williams, Neico Greene, Armande' Whitfield, Nevaeh Garcia and Armareya Whitfield and their mothers, Phylisha, Rachael, Tamara and Natasha; his mother, Mary L. Huhnky; his siblings, Jackie Williams and Frankie Jones; his grandchildren, Ki'Mareyae Kelson and Sa'miya Williams; a very special aunt, Betty Rose (who helped to raise him), along with a host of extended family and friends.
