Sammie Webb

Mr. Sammie Webb, 63, passed away July 11, 2022.

Funeral services are scheduled for 12 noon Thursday July 21, 2022 at Amazing Grace Ministries. Interment with military honors are scheduled for 2pm at the Iowa Veteran's Cemetery in Van Meter.

Sammie Webb was born on June 24, 1958 to Samuel and Bessie Webb in Walnut Mississippi. He was educated in the Mississippi School System and graduated from Walnut High school. Sammie enlisted in the Army in 1978 and was awarded the Overseas Service Ribbons, Sharpshooter Training ribbon, Achievement Medals, and was promoted to Sergeant during his tenure.

Sammie married Dorris Jane Prather on September 19, 1998 and together they raised 6 children.

Sammie enjoyed hunting, fishing and grilling. He made the best spaghetti and homemade sauce. Sammie loved to sing and dance. Dorris called him "her Dancing Bear". He enjoyed working in the yard and spending time with his grandchildren. Sammie loved listening to his Blues and R & B. He especially liked traveling back to Mississippi to visit family.

Sammie passed away on July 10, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Bessie Webb; brother, William Morris Webb, and great-granddaughter, Ava Deshay .

Sammie Leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Dorris Jane Webb; children, Dorriann, Preston, Tabetha, Tammy, Ann and Billy; brother, Jessie; grandchildren, Tytrace, Kartier, Talya, James, Shy, Nakia, Preshaun, Trashaun, Ayana, DuVon and Travion; 12 great grandchildren; niece, Jessica; and a host of extended family and friends.
