Ruby L. (Williamson) Britt passed away December 21, 2020.
Ruby Lee Britt was born April 27, 1929 in Baton Rouge, LA to parents, Albertha Simmons and Wesley Taylor.
She attended Catholic school and an all-black nursing school in Chicago, IL. With her nursing skills she worked the night shift at area hospitals.
Ruby had 7 children; 5 daughters and 2 sons. Her birthstone was a diamond and she also loved diamonds. Her favorite color was Ruby Red. Her very close girlfriends name was Thelma. Ruby also had a very strong relationship with her Heavenly Father. She sang in her church choir plus worked for her pastor and his wife. "Let it Rain" by Bishop Paul S Morton was one of her favorite songs that we all have listened to over & over again with her.
From Louisiana Ruby lived in Fort Dodge and then Des Moines, IA for most of her life. She also lived in Anoka, MN with another one of her daughters.
Ruby went home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2020 at the age of 91 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ardie Britt; her children, Tracey Boy, Bernadine Oakley, and George Hills all lived in Des Moines, IA, and Delores Green who lived in Kansas City, Kansas. and Baby Hill, born in New Orleans.
Ruby leaves behind her children, Queen Imani, who lives in LA, Barbara Carter and Gloria Hill who live in Des Moines, IA and Willie Mae Overstreet who lives in Anoka, MN.
She also leaves behind of host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandkids, great grandkids plus a lot of friends and loved ones.Interment
