Redell Oakley passed away on June 22, 2022, There will be a Graveside service at Iowa Veteran Cemetery in Adle, IA on Wednesday June 29th, 2022 @ 2:00pm



Redell Oakley was born in Oktaha, OK on April 14, 1937; the son of Edna (Love) Oakley and Asberry Oakley. He graduated from North High School, in Des Moines, IA.

After graduation, Mr. Oakley enlisted in the U. S. Air Force. He earned a good conduct award and achieved the rank of Airman 2nd Class before separating from the service in 1960.

After his time in the military, Mr. Oakley joined the workforce. He worked for Homes of Oakridge for most of his career as a maintenance man/foreman. He retired from Homes of Oakridge after 30 years of service. He loved to go fishing and listen to Blues music. He was a family man, a great auto mechanic, and loved to dress sharp and wear some nice looking hats. He was a master at home repairs, also. He was a loving, caring, step father, who loved to spoil his grand children, loved going to Knights of Pythias to socialize.

Mr Redell Oakley went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2022. He was welcomed by his loving wife, Bernedine Marion (Hill) Oakley; his parents, Ms. Edna (Love) and Asberry Oakley; siblings, Bobby O., Lincoln, Buster, Dorothy Mae, Wanda Jean; Norman and James; granddaughter, Christina Anglero. Left here on earth to cherish his memory are his siblings, Jeweleline Brown, Dan Oakley, John Oakley,: his children, Annette, Redell Jr., Renell, Rochelle, David; grandchildren, Christina, Angel, Ernest, Natasha, Stephine, Sinade, David, Charles, Kandace, Sherre, Donish, Shante, David Jr., Davon, Derrick, Malakhi, Lutricia, and great granddaughter Anyia; his stepchildren, Angel, Pam, Tangie, Antoine and Felecia, along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends

He will be remembered for his overalls, plaid shirts and mischievous smile.
