Phoebe Ann Blankenship, born on January 8, 1939, in Peoria, Illinois, to Margaret (Young) and Ernest Woerner. Phoebe cherished her childhood years in Illinois before her family relocated to St. Charles, Iowa. Phoebe's educational journey took her to Drake University, where she met her beloved husband, Sherman Blankenship, and she later attended Dubuque College, earning a Masters of Theology. Following their move to Missouri, Phoebe served as an interim Minister, showcasing her dedication and generous spirit. Her passion for guiding youth and teaching them right from wrong reflected her outstanding qualities as a minister. As a devoted mother of three and grandmother, Phoebe embodied patience and kindness. While she often joked about her cooking skills, she always approached the kitchen with the best intentions. Phoebe's creativity extended beyond the culinary realm; she worked as a seamstress at a bridal shop and crafted her own dresses for her prom and wedding, demonstrating her impeccable sense of style and confidence. This talent extended to making dresses for her children, nieces, nephews, and in-laws, showcasing her generous spirit and love for family. Phoebe passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, in St. Peters, Missouri, at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Blankenship; her son, Lawerence Blankenship; her parents, Margaret and Ernest Woerner; and her aunt, Ruth Woerner. Her beloved family includes her children, Margaret (Timothy) Lake and Ruth (Brad) Jamison; her grandchildren, Adam, Jonathan, and Danny Blankenship, Christopher and Samantha Lake, and Clover Patton; as well as her great-grandchildren, Ariel, Eric, Elijah, and Adelaide; her great-great-grandchildren, Autumn and Jaydean; along with many extended family members and dear friends. Phoebe’s legacy of love, compassion, and strength will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate to know her. She will be deeply missed.
