Perry Allen Horton was born on September 21, 1958, in Akron, OH to Eddie Lee and Thelma Horton. He was the first twin son of Eddie and Thelma and was a special young man from his birth. He was quick witted and could always bring laughter in to the room. No matter what happened, Perry was always calm and able to bring peace to any situation. He loved sports and played football, winning several trophies as young man but was distracted by the girls and didn't continue on.
Perry was a product of Akron Public School System and he graduated from Central Hower High School. He was very intelligent and scored over 100 on his IQ test. Perry attended Kent State University and achieved his dream of becoming an LPN. In the early 90's, Perry answered his call from the Lord and began to study the word of God. He became Licentiate of Greater Light AME Church located in St. Petersburg, FL. He received his ordination with the AME Church in 2002 and ministered to many, leading them to the Lord. Perry loved to share the word with everyone. He had a photogenic memory and could quote the scripture as well as the address so that people would know where to find answers in the word of God.
Perry could not cook! He would try to fry French fries and the entire house would be smoking. Perry could not dance or keep the beat to save his life. Everyone considered him to be a nerd, however, he said, "It was his ploy to get the ladies".
On Saturday, October 25th at 6:50 AM, Perry passed peacefully at the age of 56 and went to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Lee Horton Sr.; sister Christine Green; brothers Charles Horton and Clarence Horton; He leaves to cherish his memory his three children, Brandy "Brandy Boo" (Wes Morrison) Horton, Sterling Horton and Brooke Sanders; grandchildren Brayon, Gregory and Brayden Horton, Elijah, Braylynn and Maddie Simmons; mother Thelma Horton; two brothers, Eddie (Pandora) Horton and twin brother, Gary (Patricia) Horton; six sisters, Harriet (George) Tompkins, Ilean Mayfield, Rita Horton, Felicia Price, Melody (Alonzo) King and Carolyn (Gary) Girrard; two sisters-in-law, Lizzie Horton and Loraine Horton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
