Patricia Ann Daughtery

Patricia Ann Daughtery passed away June 16, 2019.

Patricia Ann (Burton) Daughtery was born April 13, 1958 to Thomas Will Henry Burton and Jeanette Mae Jackson in Mexico, Missouri. She was the middle child in a family of ten.

"Patty Ann" came to Des Moines in the late 60s and attended North High School where she graduated. She worked in several occupations-fast food, hotel clerk, housekeeping-doing what she needed to do to keep her family together. She was married to Henry Earl Daughtery who preceded her in death. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church -Oralabor after being baptized at 2nd Baptist in Mexico, Mo.

Pattys latest occupation was homemaker and running Grandma Day Care for the grandchildren. She loved spending time with them. But she didnt stand for foolishness.

Patty was stubborn, outspoken, loyal, the life of the party- she loved to entertain. She was a great cook and could make chicken 20 different ways! She loved to dress, accessorize and decorate. She was very particular and a real "Fashionista" when she dressed; and a neat freak when it came to her home. Patty was very opinionated. She would, "Tell you what Patty Ann loves," which was the plain truth. If you disagreed, she might give you the silent treatment, but it didnt last long. You had to be mad on your time, not hers. Shed give you that big smile and carry on with her day. Patty would make motion and move people in her world. She was always full of positive energy.

Patty passed away June 15, 2019 at the age of 61. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; her brother, Lawrence; aunt, Carolyn Burton; uncle, Roscoe Burton; nephew, Johnnie Jackson and grandchildren, Joshua Roby Jr. and Ayayla Daughtery. She leaves cherished memories with her children, Jessica Hunter, Terrance and Corey Daughtery; her siblings, Linda Jackson, Lynetta Williams, Raymond Jackson, Sharon Whitfield, Thomas, Lonnie, Daniel and Rita Burton; 10 grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
