Pamela Joy Caballero

Pamela Joy Oakley was born on October 24, 1953 to Norman H. Oakley, Sr. and Bobbie Jean Wagner in Des Moines, Iowa. At an early age, Pam and her sisters were tearing the East Side of Des Moines down. Everyone knew of the "Oakley Trio". She was educated in Des Moines Public School System where she lived most of her life until she moved to Los Angeles, California. Later, Pam decided to move back to Des Moines, Iowa to be close to her family again.



Pamela was the type to give $100.00 on Monday then put you out on Tuesday. She was the owner of a "special" dog, a protective dog and some would say aggressive dog, Sadie. Pam had such a big heart and was just a strong woman all around. She overcame every obstacle that came her way. She adored her family and she was always making sure they knew one another. She was a wonderful, sister, aunt, great-aunt, niece and friend.



Pamela Joy Caballero, 63, passed away on April 6, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Wanda Jean and Norman "Honeycomb" Oakley, Jr.

Pamela was survived by siblings, Monica "Cookie" Dickens, Leane "Doll Baby" Banks, Marsha Love, Joe "Spuddy" Oakley, Rebecca (LeRoy) Shumpert, Tiffany (Quintrell) McCreary, Anita Oakley, Valiska Wilson; nieces and nephews, Kenneth Oakley, Delonda Oakley, Traveena Fowler, Kala Jefferson and Ebony Marks; special aunt, Jewelene Brown; her four-legged friend and companion, Sadie; along with a village of great and great-great, nieces and nephews; cousins and friends.
