Ora Austin

Ora Virginia Austin, was born March 8, 1952 to Tommie Austin and Lattie Nevels in Cotton Plant Arkansas. Oras family moved to Des Moines Iowa in 1958 where she was educated and graduated from Tech High School. Ora worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.

In September of 1984 Ora was blessed with the birth of her son Terrance Irvin. Ora had many hobbies but going to Dollar Tree and Stuff (or as she referred to it, Stuffy) were at the top of her list. She enjoyed collecting art work like paintings and statues, she had plenty of them around her home. She liked listening to the Isley Brothers and MAZE.; and of course "old school gospel" from the greats like Mahalia Jackson and Shirley Caesar. Ora took daily walks and did lots of babysitting. Even though Ora was thin she had quite the sweet tooth and also loved Tasty Tacos and the Chicken Pot Pie from KFC.

Ora was a generous spirit and would keep you laughing. She always called it like she saw it, was never afraid to speak her mind, could talk her way out of many things, and had lots of love to give. She will be greatly missed.
