Mother Barbara Jean Johnson was born on December 7th, 1935 in New Orleans, LA, to President and Alice Johnson. She graduated from A. Wettermark High School in Boyce, LA.
Mother Johnson was saved at a young age. After moving from Chicago, Mother Johnson was a dedicated member of Mt. Hebron Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mothers' Board. She worked in countless roles and positions, most recently as President of the Mothers' Board.
Bobbie Jean, as she was affectionately called, loved her family. She was a mother to three children and a grandmother to eight grandchildren.
Mother Johnson worked hard and played hard. She retired from the Pinecrest State School where she worked as a Training Specialist. In her free time she enjoyed knitting, quilting cooking and traveling. Most of all she loved attending family and church gatherings. She went out to dinner once a month with" the love of her life", Rev. Bobby Young. Mother Johnson always said she voted him in, but if he made her mad she could vote him out.
Mother Johnson answered her Master's call to go from labor to rest on October 7, 2013. She was reunited with her parents; her son, James Johnson Sr. and six brothers.
