On May 22, 1949, a bright spring day in Des Moines, Iowa, Mildred Elizabeth (Robinson) Hobbs was born to Andrew Albert Robinson and Fannie Mabel Allison Bright. She was educated in the Des Moines Public School system and graduated from Des Moines Tech High School.
Mildred went on to obtain her Nursing license and was employed by Iowa Methodist and Mercy Hospitals. She was caring, compassionate, funny and no nonsense all at the same time.
Mildred, who was affectionately called Millie, was an avid reader, and she enjoyed puzzles, playing Yahtzee and dominos. She loved spending time with family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They would get together to laugh, play games and eat. The kids loved for their "GG" to make her pineapple upside down cake, mac n cheese, swiss steak and her famous potato cakes. On Sundays when she wasnt attending Greater Love Church of God in Christ, you could find her in front of the TV, rooting for the Minnesota Vikings.
Millie made her transition to eternal life on May 2, 2021 at the age of 71. Waiting for her arrival were her parents, Andrew and Fannie Robinson and her siblings, Roy Jr., Lincoln, Harper, James, Carl, Gary, Emma Lou, Mable, Sandra and Roslyn.
Millie leaves wonderful memories with her Children, Rochelle, Bobbette and Robert (DeAnna) Hobbs; her siblings, Wanda Sue McBride, Meredith Burton, Phyllis (Jerry) Woods and Anthony (Tammy) Robinson; her grandchildren, Anthony, Tierra, Antionnette, Ashley (Reginald), Brittany (Ashton), Jamerius (Johanna), Asiajuana and Robert III and her 15 great grandchildren, ZyQuis, JaNialah, Reginald III, Riland, Adonajah, ATya, Harmony, Ashton Jr., Italy, ReQhori, Quarde, Riley, Zoey, and, Nasir along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
We all will miss fussing with Millie, but know it was all in love.
