Mercedes Lalyn Arnett

Mercedes LaLyn Arnett was born to Russell Eugene Parkey and Denise LaLyn Arnett on October 19, 1988, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the Des Moines Public school system, where she attended Hoover High School. Mercedes would graduate from Ankeny high school.

Mercedes loved braiding hair as well as babysitting everyones children. She was a member Mt. Zion Baptist church in Oralabor, Iowa, where she spent her time helping with youth group as well as the seasonal programs for the church. Mercedes also enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly at the bbqs where she would always bring the mac n cheese. Shed be Late of course, but everyone already counted on that! It was always a given that youd best save her a plate because Mercedes also loved to eat! She was employed by Wells Fargo, working primarily in mortgages.

On July 12, 2020, Mercedes crossed over from time into eternity.

Waiting for her on the other side was her grandmother, Gloria Arnett. Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Denise Arnett-Hudson; step-father, Gregory Hudson; father, Russell Parkey; Children, Zanyia Saadiq and Tamaj Saadiq; siblings, Tremaine Parkey, Sahara Langford, Chase and Ada Parkey, Jacob, Nancy, Cheyenne, and Kehran Foster, Gianni Hudson, DahLaynee Hudson; grandparents, Yvonne and Russell Parkey Sr. Joanne Jones; uncles, Jermaine Parkey, Jason Parkey, Quincy Robinson, Sean Davis, Shawn Arnett and Cyron Arnett as well as a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews extended family and close friends.
