Melvin D. Jones

Melvin Damon Jones was born on March 14, 1976 to Milton and Vonnie (French) Jones in Joliet, IL. He graduated high school from Joliet Catholic Academy.

In 2002, Melvin moved to Des Moines, IA. It was here that he met his ray of sunshine, LaStalcha Bragg. The two found love in each other and were joined in holy matrimony in 2005. They had four kids between the two of them.

Melvin worked for Nebraska Furniture Mart in the warehouse. During his free time, Melvin enjoyed listening to music, watching mob and western movies and playing cards. But his past time was spent as a pool shark. Melvin played in several pool leagues and was know to run the table from time to time. Melvin's keen sense of style and sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him.

Melvin was called from time into eternity on July 16, 2014 after a brief illness. He was reunited with his parents, Milton and Vonnie and his grandparents.

Left to cherish Melvin's memory is his wife, LaStalcha; his children, Lance Dixon, Terriana Smith, Damon Jones and Julian Ngumba; a brother, three sisters, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
