Maxine Francis Doyle Bumpus Green was born in Kansas City, Kansas on November 2, 1932 to Benjamin Franklin and Josephine Doyle, who both preceded her in death. Maxine and her brother, Stanley Doyle were the only children from this union. Stanley also preceded her in death.

Maxine received her education in the Des Moines Public school and attended North High School. Maxine was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, cooking, baking, playing cards and traveling. She also worked at AMF Western Tool and United Federal Savings and Loan. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Maxine professed her belief in God the Father , God the Son and God the Holy Spirit and for many years was a member of East 15th Street Church of God in Christ.

Maxine passed away February 23, 2018 at her home. She was 85 years old. Preceding her in death were her spouse, Carl 'Buddy' Green; her parents; other family members, Marjorie Blount Doyle, Billy Ray Carliss, Gerald L. Blount, Keith V. Hines and Frank E Blount.; her grandchildren, Ramondo Bumpus and Dedric Roland.

Maxine is survived by and leaves fond memories with her children, Claude (Cheryl) Bumpus, William Wayne 'Mickey' Bumpus (Cheryl), Teresa Bumpus Hamlton and Denise Bumpus Jewitt; sister, Debra A Doyle and brothers, Dwayne Blount and Larry Blount; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; Billie Dean Bumpus, Carolyn Holmes Bumpus Fonza, Paul Morrison (her brother from another mother) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
