Mary Ann Edwards

Mary Ann Edwards was born June 19, 1953 in Des Moines to Robert William Edwards and Ellen Mae (Miller) Edwards. She was raised in Des Moines and graduated from Roosevelt High School.

Mary was a long time member of Christ Apostolic Temple. She served her church as an usher for many years.

Mary was great with numbers all her life, so it was natural for her to pursue a career in accounting. She attended DMACC in pursuit of a degree in accounting; and she was employed at Wells Fargo for many years as an accountant. After she retired, she spent a lot of time with her grandchildren. She loved them to the moon and back. Mary Ann loved all the different sports and being outdoors. She was very active and liked swimming, bowling and traveling. She was a great cook and made the best greens, spaghetti and lasagna. Mary was friendly in a quiet sort of way until you "sent her flag up."

Mary passed away peacefully on February 21, 2019. She was preceded in death by her only child, Calvin Lamar Edwards; her mother, Ellen Edwards and sister, Linda Edwards.

She is survived by her father, Robert Edwards, Sr.; her siblings, Deborah May, Robin Kay and Robert Jr; her beloved grand children, Alexis Edwards, Cheyenne Edwards, Calvin Edwards, Jr., Jayden Edwards, Zhi Mareon Townsend along with a host of cousins extended family, co workers and friends.
