Marvin Ricardo Poage

Marvin Ricardo Poage was born April 6, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to Marvin N. Poage and Wilma (Fomby) Poage. Marvin attended High School in the Chicago area and after graduation, joined the United States Air Force.

After serving his country honorably, Marvin found employment at Younkers and then AT&T. Not content to just work a job, Marvin wanted a career. He returned to school and attained a Bachelors degree in Telecommunications. With that education he would eventually become the Executive Director of Telecommunications for AT&T, until his retirement.

Marvin married the former Carole Humphrey in 1971. They loved and cared for each other until Marvin's passing on October 28, 2015.

Marvin leaves fond memories with his wife, Carole; his grandchildren/caretakers, Terrance and Tanisha Butts and a host of extended family in Des Moines and Chicago.
