Marva Williams Washington

Marva G. Williams-Washington was born

September 16, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the only child of Kenneth and Olga Elizabeth (Bibbs) Hill.

Marva was educated in the Des Moines Public school system where she graduated from North High School. She later furthered her education at Drake University.

Marva worked for Greyhound Transit and the Des Moines Public School systems as an IT Programmer Analyst and bookkeeper at North High School before her retirement in 2011. After her retirement Marva spent her time caring for her mother, Olga and with her children and grandchildren. Marva was also an avid movie watcher. She loved to travel and as young woman she loved to sing. She was also an animal lover so her daughter's dog, Pepper, was just like another child.

Marva was a dedicated member of Philadelphia Seventh Day Adventist Church and attended until her health began to fail.

After a brief but valiant battle, Marva won the victory and went home to be with the Lord. She was 65 years old. Preceding her in death was her father Kenneth Marvin Hill.

Left to cherish Marva's memory are her daughters, Bridgette Blunt-Partee' (Ken), billijo Williams and Bretta Williams Moore (Robert); her mother, Olga E. Hill; grandchildren, Tyler Alexander Blunt, Brycen Perry Moore and Sasha Lauren Elizabeth Moore; her church family, extended family and many friends.
