Mr. Marlon Jackman passed away June 29, 2019. A public visitation will be held on July 8, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m.

Marlon Lester Jackman was born to Harry Jackman and Jean Colbert on June 19, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area, graduating from Tech High School. Following his primary education, Marlon enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was discharged April 28, 1970. He then began working for Bridgestone as a Tire Builder for the next 30 years until his retirement.

On July 3, 2006, Marlon and Connie Washington were united in marriage in Des Moines, Iowa.

Marlon was a hard worker and a outstanding provider for his family. He couldnt sit still, whether it was fixing something around the house, going fishing or looking at a classic mustang; Marlon was always up for it. He was raised Seventh Day Adventist and was a strict parent, but was also a kind and generous person. Marlon donated to many charities including St. Judes Childrens hospital. He was also a certified grill master. He loved watching the Denver Broncos and "American Pickers" while munching on his favorite snack-CANDY!

On June 29, 2019, Marlon stepped from time into eternity. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Jean; brother, Harry Jr., and step-daughter, Mariah Morton

Left to cherish Marlons memory is his wife, Connie Jackman; daughter, Dena (Jeff) Madsen; step children, Ola Scott, Angela (Juan) Hernandez, Nicole Lomax, Aaron Lomax, Jana Lomax-Ceesay (Kekula), and Erin Lomax; siblings, Sheryl Jackman, Janet Jones, Bobbie Tyler, Bret, Ronnie and Colette Colbert and a host of grand and great-grandchildren.Funeral Service
