Luvenia Branch Butler passed away on August 5, 2020. A memorial service is planned for 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at Henderson's Highland Park Funeral Home. THIS IS A CHANGE OF DATE BECAUSE OF THE STORM..
Luvenia Branch was born December 21, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa to Louis Branch, Sr and Anna Mae Luckett. The family relocated to Chicago where Luvenia received her primary education. She would return to Iowa in the late 60s to complete high school and graduate from Des Moines Tech High.
"Lulu" as she was affectionately called, was a "Jill of all trades". She stayed busy working various jobs to support her family. She was a CNA in her early years of employment. She worked for many years at the Greyhound Bus station and retired from working as a front desk security guard at the Elsie Manor Senior High Rise. When Lulu wasnt working she loved having fun. She had a ready smile and loved helping people.
Lulu was a fashionista before they knew the word! She never stepped out of the house unless she was immaculately dressed and wearing her trade mark French roll hair style. She also was ahead of her time in realizing how important eyebrows are in framing your face. She could put hers on in her sleep. Lulu loved all things fashion and all that it entailed. Interior design, fabric, fashion, decorating, bright colors and shapes and how to make them work together. She was also known for her beautiful makeup. Lulu took great care of her body. She liked to exercise and one of her favorite past times was roller skating.
Family was very important. She always wanted her family to love and support each other. The other important thing in her life was being one of Jehovahs Witnesses.
Lulu passed away on August 5, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Luckett and Louis Branch; her sister , Anna Jean Luckett, and her grandchildren, Meinaha Kane and Tiashon Lee Herron.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Valencia, Pratrico an Larry; her siblings Louis, Pearl, and Joanne; her grandchildren Sondiyia, DeShaawn, Derrick, Daquinta, Quntonio, Tasia, Tiara, Kiara, Meagan, Aquira, Dajour, Richaela, Treontae, Meniasha, Deon, Cerious, Aubriana, Marshawn, Teryke Tristian and Jayshawn along with 18 great grandchildren, extended family and friends.
