Lonie Mae George

Lonie M. George was born in Dothan, Alabama. She graduated high school in Jacksonville, Florida. Lonie moved to Des Moines in the 1960's and worked as a housekeeper and bartender while raising her only daughter, Dorothy. Lonie loved her grandsons dearly and they returned that love. She also extended that love to her great grandchildren.

Lonie passed away on January 30, 2013 leaving behind her daughter, Dorothy George; her grandsons, Tony and Rod George and Donald Miller; five great grandchildren and one great grandchild along with extended family and friends.

Lonie will be laid to rest in Dothan, AL next week from Scotts Chapel Hill Mortuary.
