Lloyd Daniel Tate, Jr. was born December 25, 1954, in Perry, Iowa to Lloyd Daniel and Mary Tindrell-Tate, Sr. He attended Des Moines Public Schools and graduated from the Des Moines Technical High School.
He joined the Army during the Viet Nam War and was stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Lloyd enjoyed fishing and fishing and fishing. He was a welder by trade, but he also was a man of many talents. He was an auto mechanic, a cook, and an all-around handy man. When Lloyd was not working you could find him listening to all genres of music: 70s, R&B, and country music. Lloyd comes from a very large and loving extended family. The Tindrell, Weavers, Seals, Robinson families and more will all miss him dearly.
On February 14, 2022, Lloyd stepped from time into eternity. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Daniel and Mary (Tindrell) Tate, Sr.; and sisters, Ruie Morris, Shirley K. Woods and Mary Ann Russell.
