Linnie Ruth Patton

Mrs. Linnie Patton passed away March 18, 2023.

Linnie Ruth {Cooper} Patton was born to Winston Dan Mills and Dorothy Lee Cooper December 16, 1948 in Arcadia, Louisiana.. She received her education in the Arcadia Public School System and graduated from Arcadia High School.

Not long after high school Linnie married the love of her life, Willie Patton, in her parents living room. They would spend the next 50 years loving and caring for each other. When they moved north the couple quickly joined Mt. Hebron Baptist. Linnie was among the first Deaconess to serve Mt. Hebron. She also served as the Usher Board President and Choir member

Outside the home Linnie was active. She worked at an Army Munitions plant and later for Super Value stores in the Distribution Center. She was the team Mom when the kids played sports. Her great granddaughter played on the Midwest Crushers softball team, and she loved going to her games. She loved watching sports on TV especially tennis when Serena was playing, and Basketball when LeBron played. She also loved the Dallas Cowboys and fishing. She liked to drive cross country to visit family, and did we mention Linnie love to dress up for church? She had tons of hats, shoes and purses to match her suits, and a variety of wigs for a different look. She was ever the indulgent Grandma, she always had grandkids around to help.

And suddenly she was gone. Jesus called Linnie to come home on March 18, 2023. Waiting to welcome her were her parents, Winston and Dorothy; her sisters, Francis Mills, Lucy Mills and Shelia Bishop, her brother, Ray Dean Bishop; and stepson, Timothy Patton

Linnie leaves cherished memories with her husband of 50 years, Deacon Willie Patton, her children, Christophor and Debra; her siblings, Joan, Diane, Joyce, Carolyn “Rene”, Bettye Jean, Windy, KDora, Winston, Rodney, Gregory and Harvest Mills; brother’s and sister’s in law, Pastor James (Liza) Patton, Jessie ( Quincy) Patton and Elton (Patsy) Gatson; her grandchildren, Macio, Cody, Roman, Jeanella; great grandchildren, Zaniyah, Daveion, Dembe, Amir, Toree Moon, Mya, Sebastion, Alyia, and Dream; step grandchildren, Lindaja Smith, Lejlah Smith and Don Brown, foster grandchildren, Raven, Shareef and Rashad and their mom, Stacy Madyum, goddaughter Danessa Trahan; her “spiritual adopted children”, Erwin (Kim) Jones and Deacon and Pastor Koger and her ‘other husband and his other wife’, Walter & Donna Henderson, along with extended family and friends.
