Linda Gail Joshua was born in Lubbock, Texas, on September 10, 1966, to the union of Edward Joshua and Bertha Mae Joshua (Royal). She was the youngest of nineteen children.
Linda received her formal education at Hoover High School in Des Moines, IA. While in high school she excelled academically and athletically, running track. Linda competed in the 4x100 Meter Relay and 100 Meter Hurdles during The Drake Relays.
After relocating from Iowa to Georgia, Linda united with Zion Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her passing. Linda was a woman of strong faith, who studied the word diligently. She loved children and was committed to the Childrens Ministry, instilling in them the importance of knowing God, like her parents did with her at a young age. Linda was a true worshipper and never failed to give God all the praise, glory, and honor.
Linda and Derrick were united in holy matrimony in May 2002 and a year later they welcomed a beautiful, bright eyed baby girl, Kennedy Alene Janae Oglesby. Linda was a devoted wife and loved being a mother on the go. She enjoyed attending Kennedys dance recitals, school orchestra, track meets, and cheerleading competitions; never missing an opportunity to cheer her baby girl.
Linda had 15 years in the insurance industry and was employed with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield for 12 years. She was a dedicated employee, often times managing conference calls, while managing the pain. Linda lived and loved life! She adored family, family gatherings and cherished friendships. Even, in the midst of her own health challenges, she was always willing to offer a listening ear, extend a helping hand and offer words of encouragement through any situation.
Linda departed to her eternal home on Sunday, December 3, 2017 in Marietta, Georgia, after a long, brave courageous battle with cancer. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Joshua and Bertha Mae Joshua and eight of her siblings: Kevin Joshua, Kennis Joshua, PL Joshua, Edward Joshua, Jr. (Christine), Tomy Joshua, Florine Joshua, Gwendolyn Davis, Robert Joshua.
She is survived by her spouse, Derrick; daughter, Kennedy; six brothers, Ronnie Joshua, Johnnie Joshua (Shantel), Jarvis Joshua (Connie), Dennis Joshua, Raymond Joshua (Jewel), and John McDowell; four sisters, Mary Ann Majors, Vera Faye Scroggins, Bobbie Jo Newton and Jeanette McDowell.
