Lesia Kay Holt

Lesia passed away on March 7, 2023. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023. 

Ms. Lesia Kay Holt, age 58, heard her master’s call to rest

on March 7, 2023, in Des Moines, Iowa after a short hardfought battle with cancer.

Born April 18, 1964, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Edward and

Trudy Holt.

Lesia was a lifelong resident of Des Moines, and was

educated in the Des Moines Public School District

(DMPS).

In her spare time, Lesia enjoyed playing Bingo, singing and

listening to music, reading the Enquirer magazine,

watching Lifetime and the Food Network. In her spare

time Lesia, enjoyed pampering herself by getting her hair

and nails done, and she loved getting dressed up.

Lesia is preceded in death by her father, Edward Holt, Sr.,

her sons, Ronell Davis and Bernard Crockett; her

grandparents Sherman & Cecil Burrell; her brother,

Edward Holt, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Trudy

Connell, her daughters, Karmel Holt, MaiLayshia Gant of

Des Moines, IA; her son Rashad Holt of Davenport, IA;

her grandchildren Daevone, Deontae, and DaMani Holt,

AKeylah, Anaya and Amaree Williams; her great

grandchildren Xyaire, Amani and Braelynn Holt of Des

Moines, IA; her brother Harold Holt of Des Moines, her

sisters Stephanie Holt of Davenport, IA and Arichica

(Steve) Prescott of Woodinville, WA as well as aunts,

uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous close

friends who became family.
