La-Wanda Mae Watley was born May 14th ,1960 in Des Moines, Iowa, at Mercy Hospital, eighth of nine children born to Roy Watley and Ruth Ann (Henderson) Watley.
La-Wandas love for family and friends was visible with all the lives she touched and the dreams she encouraged. She remained positive when many of us could not and believed the best in us, even at our worst.
Wanda loved spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted mother, aunt, sister and friend. Her attitude could make you laugh and her positivity could brighten any room. She remained determined in her life and was a true believer in faith. Even during her times of sickness, she smiled, joked, praised God and remained diligent in trying to improve herself.
La-Wanda departed this life on Monday October 1st, 2018. She is now at rest among her parents, Roy and Ruth Watley; siblings, Anne, Bobby and Virginia; nephews, Richard and Ricky Carr. She leaves one daughter, Savannah and one son, Melvano Moore. A grandson, Melvano Moore; and other family in Iowa; her siblings, Agnes Cook of Colorado, Juanita Moore of California, Wayne Watley of Colorado, Russell Watley of Colorado, and Trena (Alan) Hamilton of Illinois, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Don't remember me with tears,
Remember all the laughter,
We've shared throughout the years,
Now I am content,
That my life it was worthwhile,
Knowing that I passed along the way
I made somebody smile.
When you are walking down the street
And you've got me on your mind,
I'm walking your footsteps
Only half a step behind.
So please don't be unhappy
Just becuase I'm out of sight,
Remember that I'm with you
Each morning, noon and night.
