LaTyia passed away August 29, 2022. Funeral services were held at Kingdom Life Church in Des Moines, IA on Friday, September 9, 2022 starting at 11:00am.


 
LaTyia Marie Johnson, the daughter of Alesia Dorthea (Johnson) and Phillip Sylvester Mozee, was born on October 5, 1984, in Des Moines, Iowa.


 
At the age of 5, LaTyia moved from Des Moines, IA to Tennessee where she grew up and was a choir member at a Tennessee church. She was educated in the Tennessee Public School System and graduated. She later met her husband Arlo Moody at Hickory Hollow Mall in Nashville, TN. In 2005 they got married in Huntsville, AL. Later in her adult life, she moved back to Des Moines.


 
LaTyia was employed as a CNA for most of her career. LaTyia loved to bake, and cook her favorite dishes: greens, mac & cheese and sweet potato pie. Her tiger season she couldn't cook without it. She loved to travel and go shopping for handbags and shoes. LaTyia was an easy going person but didn't play and demanded her respect.


 
LaTyia departed this life on August 29, 2022. Preceding her in death were her Grandparents, Edna Fugate and Frank Mozee Sr; parents, Alesia Johnson and Phillip Mozee; son, Chance; daughter, Lexi; sisters, Tyanne and Deondra; nephew; Markel; step father, Omar Duncan; father in law, Willie Moody Jr.


 
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: husband, Arlo Moody; children, TeOndre Moody, TreVaun Moody, Laila Alexander and Layona Johnson; siblings, Gabriel Johnson, Rickey Wagner, Kameesha Duncan, Monequeca Duncan, Phillip Duncan, Phyllisha Duncan, Amanda Duncan, Syreeta Mozee, Anthony Scullark, Torional Tolson, Shawntel Tolson, Barshawnda Westbrook, Rodney (Omar) Dysart, Terence Tolson, Janyshya Tolson, cousin/sister, Telisha Mozee; best friend; Shamika Cross, brother in law, Willie, Jamaal, Rantez and Terrell; sister in law; Myra, Debriah, Cerica, Lameka and Narkita; step brothers, Omar Duncan and Johnathan Duncan and host of cousins, foster siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends and extended family
