Latonya Verrell Edwards

LaTonya Verrell Edwards was born on September 6, 1970 in Des Moines, IA to Charles Edwards and Veronica Turner.

LaTonya had two beautiful children, LuSarah and Jonathan, whom she loved dearly. She raised her children with strict values, but was always fair. She had a great sense of humor, and loved being around family and friends. Latonya loved hanging out with her mother Veronica, they were the best of friends. They shopped together, watched TV westerns together and had a lot of fun times together. Latonya like to watch cooking shows on TV and recreate the cakes she saw. She could throw down on other things also. Her meat loaf, mashed potatoes and green beans were a favorite meal. LaTonya also loved the outdoors, she could people watch all day. She loved listening and singing along to old school R&B songs. Latonya also liked to play cards. Oh and she could trash talk with the best of them during a game.

LaTonya was called home to be with the Lord on September 14, 2016. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Edwards; grandmother, LuSarah Glenn; aunt, Conya D Lovelady; cousins, Conya Marie Wright, Charles Lovelady, Lamont Lovelady, Marchita Claytor, and Norma Houston. Those who are left to cherish LaTonya's memories are her children, LuSarah Edwards and Jonathan Edwards; mother, Veronica Turner; step mother, Minnie Edwards; siblings, Tasha Lewis (Kavanaugh), Daryl Lewis (Jazmin), Justin Edwards ( Michelle), Charles Edwards Jr. (Jessica), Lamont Lovelady, Harold Lovelady (Billie), Shirley Mae Oliver, Sheryl Kay Bell, Tony Scott (Toni), Charlesetta Turner; a grandchild on the way and a host of family and friends .
