Larry Hawkins

Larry Hawkins passed away on January 10, 2018. A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Bethel A.M.E. on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with a public viewing from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Larry E. Hawkins Sr., 74, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 peacefully at Fleur Heights Care Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Boston-Hawkins and his parents Robert and Marcel Hawkins.

Born in Des Moines, IA March 13, 1943 along side his identical twin brother Gary. Larry and Gary were inseparable for most of their young lives until they graduated from East high school and Gary was drafted into the US Army and after his service resided in Maryland. Larry remained in Des Moines attend college and created a family with Maria. He worked for 30 years as a manager at Northwestern Bell until he retired. He then followed his entrepreneurial spirit and purchased Custom Paper Supply which he ran until he fell ill and retired a second time.

A loving brother he leaves behind his siblings Gary (Maurine) Hawkins, Stanley (Barbara) Hawkins, Thomas (Teresa) Hawkins, Anita Boston , Paulette (Bill) Fowler and Patrice Frazier.

He was the father of five children and is survived by his son Larry (Alesha) Hawkins Jr., and daughters, Senta Hawkins, Bauni (Darron) Motton, Malika Sterling and Pia Hawkins. Granddaughters Sienna, Maylesha and Kylah and Grandsons Darron Jr., Daylan, Jerome, Malik, Uriah, Sivan and Gabriel (Gabe). Visitation
