Larry Allen

Larry Allen Jr passed away on June 20, 2023.

Larry Wilburt Allen Jr. was born to Larry W. Allen Sr. and Joan A. Morris (Sealy) in Des Moines, Iowa on October 22, 1966.

Larry was educated through the Des Moines Public School System and graduated from Hoover High School. He continued his education through Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny, Iowa. He also attended Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa. Larry obtained an Associates Degree in Technology through the National Educational Center of Technology. Larry Allen Jr. served in the Army for three years and spent his military duty in Germany. As he worked for the National Guard, he was apart of the tele-communications department and was a trainer for 8 years. Larry was also an IT professional and worked 18 years for Information Tool Systems.

Larry attended Cathedral of St. Paul and Corinthian Baptist Church for worship. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Larry was considered a homebody. He liked to keep a nice home. He liked visiting Trinidad when he could. Larry loved to cook and he definitely was a grill master. He enjoyed listening to Mariah Carey, hard rock, reggae and different music genres. Larry definitely had some flavor in his ear. He took on gardening and was good at it. He also fancied vintage cars. Larry like to dress well and he was a kind man, to his mother and dogs. Larry had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh; he always made sure to get the last word. He even called his aunt and asked her to tell his mom to stop stalking him when she got concerned about him.

Larry passed away on June 20, 2023. He preceded in death by his step-father, Edward Bernard Morris; grandparents, Pearl Hinds Sealy, Cecil McDonald Sealy, Bob Allen and Helen Allen Wright; Uncles, Roy Hinds and Neville Cecil and Winston Sealy; Cecil Palmistian Sealy Jr., Djarlon Darren Sealy and aunt, Camilla Sealy.

Larry is survived by his mother, Joan A. Morris (Sealy); father, Larry W. Allen Sr.; step-brother, Michael Morris; step-sister, Tamara Bragg; aunts and uncles, Cecile Sealy, Reynold Sealy, Donavan Sealy, Rosslyn (Chester) Muirhead, Arnold Sealy, Roger Sealy, June Benn-Webb, Barbara Singh,

Mona Phillips, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
