Lambert Vincent Hoomana passed away April 5, 2019 at Methodist Hospital.
Born November 16, 1947 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Joseph and Mildred (Kamekona) Hoomana, Vince was educated in the local school system, graduating from Kaimeke High School.
Vince enlisted in the US Navy after graduation. He was a Warrior and proud Hawaiian. He served two tours in Viet Nam as a Seabee (the Navy's version of builders and engineers) and was stationed in Sicily and Nevada as an MP and investigator (NCIS). He was also an investigator for the Sheriff's Department in Mississippi. Vince would spend 21 years in the service before his honorable discharge. He continued to do security work until his retirement.
When Vinces wasn't working he enjoyed hunting (he earned marksmen awards in the service) sewing and cooking. He was famous for his Hawaiian potato salad.. He was very particular about his clothes - he ironed EVERYTHING! And he loved spending time with the grandkids. He was generous in providing the extras for them.
Vincent was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; four children, 3 step children; his siblings, Allison, Michelle and Handford; a host of extended family, 7 grandchildren, 10 1/2 great grandchildren and many friends in Des Moines and Honolulu.
